File Path Mapping Error

Featured Replies

I have a Windows 98 CD With the 98Lite directory in the root directory of the CD.

When I try to run it from the 98 CD (by typing "D:\98lite"), I get this error:

"File Path Mapping Error. Shared installation folders must be mapped to a drive letter. 98lite can not continue."

Is there some DOS commmand I am missing here?

Please Help :(

98 Lite is a commercial product. I think they offer technical support to their customers. Have you tried there ?

The compressed 98lite install program can run from CD, but must be installed

onto the hard disc and the entire win98 directory from the CD must be copied

to the same directory. 98lite creates and modifies a number of files in this

directory before windows setup is run.

some files of lite mkust be written, it cannot de done in the CD
