Sgt_Strider Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Everytime I create a virtual machine and follow the settings as recommended by MSFN, the windows installation doesn't detect a hard drive. As a result, I can't test out my ISO's. What is going on? What settings do I have to change in Workstation 5 to get the hard drive to be detected? Thanks.
IcemanND Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 VM5 doesnot create a hard drive by default when creating a virtual machine. besure that there is on in the settings of the virtual machine. if not then create one and try again.
Sgt_Strider Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 Nevermind, I got it figured out. Anyway here is just a general question about Workstation 5. I notice that my drivers aren't install correctly in Workstation 5 yet when I burn the ISO to a CDRW and install it, everything is okay. I also notice the wrong drivers are installed in a virtual environment. Is that normal? How do you guys get the correct drivers to install in the virtual environment? Thanks.
IcemanND Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 the short answer is "you don't" the vm has virutal devices and will only install its drivers, the only way to test if your drivers wrk is to use your ua cd on it actual target machine.
