upgrading to sp2 *need help*

Have you done the usual check for viruses/spyware? Use all the tools listed in the Malware section of the forums (as well as online scanners).

well i ran the programs, and i am free of any sort of malware/spyware/virus etc.

i just cant seem to install ANY updates now, they download ok, but they do not install. i dont get any error messages, all i get is "failed to install" then it closes.

Are you trying to update from the Windows Update site? There should be an error code on the site itself - check under your installation history (not IE history).

For SP2 itself, I would recommend downloading the full installation (Link) and running it offline.
