Unable to Ejecting USB Sticks

Hi,

I'm unable to get my users ejecting there USB Sticks. I've changed the Group Policy settings --------> Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options "Devices: Allowed to format and eject removable media" for administrators and interactive users. I've re-booted/refreshed many times for the policy to kick in but no joy.

I don’t know what else to try now, even after some serious goggling

Can anyone help?

P.S. This is a single domain environment with windows 2003 servers. Client machines are a mix between Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

I may be wrong, but im sure I remember in the past it somthing to do with installing/updating drivers/hardware being allowed via policys.

Again, this is just of the top of my head.

Within the Policys manager, there is one which determines if users are allowed to install/uninstall drivers and/or Hardware.

Im sure this had to be allowed for users to use removabale drives, as when it is plugged in it is being installed.

again, Im not 100% sure this is correct.

Unless you specifically set that policy that will not be your problem

Are your policies applying AT ALL or just not those specific one.. because then it is a permissions issue possibly
