PnoT Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 I reload an image to a computer using a ghost image?I would like to be able to roll out 50 servers at once with a ghost image and have each one of those use a different specified computer name and ip address in a file i supply to automatically boot and join the domain. I know i can specify the domain to join with sysprep.ini but i have not seen a method that would make each machine use just 1 ip/computer name from a specified list. Ghost would put the image on the machine and i can have sysprep generate a random name and join the domain but i'm looking for more control than that. I've seen nowhere in the ghost documents where i can get the Ghostcaster Server to throw those settings on each machine but never use the same computer name or ip from a list i supply. Is this even possible? Thanks for the help in advance!
amador Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 You are looking to replace the sysprep.inf file with a unique one before the machine boots up, so it will have to be done at a DOS level with some utility that will copy to NTFS by passing permissions. The only product I know that could automate that is Altiris Deployment Server.www.altiris.com
