telnet port 25 with black screen

Hi all, I try to telnet www.mysite.com 25; it gave me a black screen with nothing in it.

Normally, it should give me 200 localhost.localdomain ....; it is abnormally.

Do you know why? How do I solve this problem?

I had the same problem and i found out that like many isp's mine was blocking port 25 they say to prevent spam. If you were checking this to send email through a corporate server all you need to do is change the outbound smtp server from your site to that of your isp and it should work fine. It did for me

But make sure to change the settings if you travel because it wont work if you do.

This is mainly because your computer isn't able to read the coding on the server... you can still send commands to it and that, just that you can't see it.
