Is it possible to have two video cards in one computer and use one of them at a time?

yup, all you gotta do is buy/have a AGP and a PCI card and it should work or 2 or more PCI cards if its an older computer, also if you're interested in buying a new video card, may i reccomend u that the newer ATi's (9000 series ++) will also have a DVI connector for LCD screens and you can aldo use the adapter to hook up 2 monitors if that's what you are trying to accomplish...
