Read Only document issue

Hi again everyone,

I'm having a problem on my office network.

There is a document created in Word and saved by one person but then another person can only open that document in Read Only mode despite the fact that no one has it opened anywhere.

The document was probably created by copying and pasting from another document with a similar format.

I have no idea what this issue could be but it seems to only happen occasionally.

If anyone else out there has had a similar experience, please let me know.

No replies but maybe this might help someone else.

I apparently missed an update because I ran the updates as my final attempt at fixing this and I haven't had any complaints since.

I was fairly certain that this machine was up to date in terms of office updates but I suppose it might have failed on previous updates without me noticing.
