Honour Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 Hello all,I think the header makes clear my problem. I have searched some topics about this but still it isnt very clear for me how to do that. Can someone tell me on an easy way. I am busy with looking for some information about it before I make an unattended version of windows. And this is what bothers me. I have a lot of partitions and I only want to format the partition I want to install windows on it. How is this possible? (IS this possible?)Please be very specific when explaining it. I'm from the noob club p.s. sorry for my terrible english...
enuffsaid Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 (edited) When you boot your Windows XP CD and it come to the screen where you get to select on which partition you want to install WXP, choose to DELETE that particular option ("D") and then select the option to install windows on the UNPARTIONED space. You will be asked if you want to format that partition in FAT32 of NTFS and wether you woul like to format "quick" or "full".Le voila!Overigens, welkom bij MSFN(by the way... welcome to MSFN) Edited July 1, 2005 by enuffsaid
Honour Posted July 1, 2005 Author Posted July 1, 2005 Tnx for your reply enuffsaid, but I would like to make that automaticly. This cd will be for my family because its quite difficult for them to install windows on nomal way. I would like to make a cd where they only put the cd in to the cdrom player and only choose the partition where they want to install and let te pc do the rest. If this isnt possible. Maybe you can program that the cd automatically formats partition C and installs windows in that partition. But not all the partitions...
Honour Posted July 1, 2005 Author Posted July 1, 2005 (edited) Bye the way, when I opened this topic I had searched for this problem via word 'format'. When I searched it with 'partition' I have seen that there were a lot of topics about this. Sorry for opening another one. But I figured out that there isnt still answer for this problem.Overigens, welkom bij MSFNIk zie het nu pas. Dankjewel Edited July 1, 2005 by Honour
