fisherman909 Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Ok, I know and have read the nifty MSFN Unattended XP install several times, and am fairly familiar with it. I was wondering, whether I use runonce.exe or Windows PE or some form of installing software during/right after XP's installation, do I have to use installer switches and make my various application installs "silent" and "unattended"? What I mean is, could I set it up so I install Windows, boot up on the first logon and have all the installers "barrage" at me, but still allow me to do each install config manually? I know that its basically going back on the whole "whoa, its all unattended and I don't have to do anything!", but long story short, I'd rather just put the files on a dvd, and forget about finding the switches..But if its not possible, I guess I could still do it.Fairly simple question, and I would by all means try this out myself, 'cept I'm the lazy typa guy who doesn't want to build an unattended install until he gets full disclosure (not because he doesn't wanna load up VMWare or burn a cd, but he's just tired.)
MAVERICKS CHOICE Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 & WelcomeNo simple way but I would recomend WPI for your program installion. Plenty of info here. Good luck. Yes we are all tired.
Zxian Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 You can get your programs to install as normally after the windows install. All you need is to omit the switches.I'd suggest using RunOnceEx for this kind of method. It will run through your list of programs and whatever you don't want, simply "Cancel" the installation.Hope this helps!
fisherman909 Posted June 28, 2005 Author Posted June 28, 2005 Well then, many thanks for the info. Oh, and for the welcome as well
