BatmaN91 Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Ok, so i've got an up-to-date installation cd for windows xp pro (thanks to nLite) and now i want to customize the windows xp setup background... so i extract the file bitmap_103 from winntbbu.dll and edit it..and that is my problem:whenever i paste a picture into the bitmap, th colors are terrible, but ive seen some examples on here where the colors are nice... so what am i doing wrongid really appreciate any help or guidance at allthanks in advance
k0pect8 Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 (edited) Save it with 24-bit colors- sounds like you're saving it at 8-bit/256 colors.HTH*you don't have to edit- you can just replace the bmp with another.bitmap00103 is 1024x768 (default 8-bit/256 colors)bitmap00153 is 800x600 (default 4-bit/16 colors) Edited June 19, 2005 by k0pect8
