Hide inactive icons

hello friends as you can see from the screenshot i have selected the option 'hide inactive icons' but it seems not to work cause there isn't the arrow into the circle. It works on the other account (limited account) instead...where can i find the solution?

anyone has an idea? i have already installed every patches from MS so there's nothing to update..i know it's strange :(

here are the steps:

1: first right click the Task Bar

2: click properties a window will open

3: make sure that the "hide inactive icon" is selected

4: click "customize" button

5: from the current item list select an item

6: select any option that u desire from the drop down menu

7: click ok

8: click apply
