Lost Soul Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 hi im trying to register Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal v5.0.325 from cdmy instal is off a %CDROM% well i used to instal my kav programs from the instal folder with the key in the same folder as the exe after it was already copied to the pc but in this instal its all being installed from the cd itself..now im getting the kav to instal silently but its asking me for the key.im using the same method of having the key in the same folder as the exe but for some odd reason its not seeing the key and integrating it into the instalis this because its being installed from cd itself ?does any one know of a good way to get it to register to see the key..ive read about renaming the key, to something.key.yek and placing it in the main programs directory.. but im not sure about that...does that mean just the C:\Program Files ,, if i did that how would it find the key,,any ideals..?
-= Mancubus =- Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 (edited) You know, I failed to register this version while unattended install too, though I've got both .key and .yek files in the program's folder and they're being copied to a HDD as usual...Maybe they changed something regarding unattended setup in that version?...Should search on their forum.P.S. Besides, 6.0 beta is out ) Edited June 15, 2005 by -= Mancubus =-

Lost Soul Posted June 16, 2005 Author Posted June 16, 2005 if any body needs to know this, i fixed the problem by exporting the reg string HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\LK.Autoand using it as my key and it worked like a charm,,
