is it illegal to modify boot screen?

I'm just thinking of making a boot screen with my company's logo and deploy system w/ them instead of the boring windows.... Since it's a company i need to make sure it is legal to do so.  can some one confirm this?

Actually, in the msdn and tech sites, they do talk about that. I'll have to dig thru my old stuff, but one of the powertoys provided by MS lets you setup a screen to do that as long as you have windows logo and say something like "Powered by Windows". You would create a new image, rename logo.sys to something like oldlogo.sys and substitute your image in its place (of course using the name of logo.sys ) Please double check that as this is what we use to do on older windows and I have not had as much call to do that in these times. Conversley, I have not tried this, if you put "/NOGUIBOOT" in the boot.ini file such as

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Embedded" /NOGUIBOOT
