now, the page teach about "$OEM$ Distribution Folders", but i d'ont find this folder.

i use in WinXp Sp1 oem version at Hebrew, and in this cd - i d'ont find the folder.

why ? maybe the version of the cd is not good ?

thank for all the Ppols that will help.

*Note:

i'm sorry for my bad english.

i'm Just a 13 years old child,

and my mother-language is hebrew, and not english.

Hi noam_moshe and welcome

You need to create this folder yourself in the root of your UACD. i.e. put it in the same folder as your i386 is in. And then you have to create all the sub folders yourself like in the diagram in the guide.

Hope this helps a little

The $OEM$ folder does not exist on a default Windows XP CD. You will have to create it. It goes at the root of the CD, like so:

\

--I386\

-----(Windows files/folders here)

--$OEM$\

-----(Your OEM files/folders here)

--SUPPORT\

-----(Support Tools)

--VALUEADD\

-----(Value added software)

Hope this helps.

Edit: Yeah, what rikgale said. :D

That's what I get for doing this at work and taking 20 minutes to type a reply.

3rd party Apps and other stuff from M$. The User State Migration Tool is in there if you ever think you are gonna need it which I doubt, unless you are a network admin.

Basically stuff which you are never gonna use

EDIT: I've just looked, I think that I wasted my time looking :P I'm never gonna use any of it

Err... I'll just look.... ok I can't look so I'll go from memory.

If I remember right it is in the section where you are removing all the components that you dont want.... Ah sod I'm gonna have to run n;ite now as can't remember the name of the section.

Got it. It's under the 'remove components' section right at the bottom. You can safely remove all three folders that are there

There is nothing that gets installed by default. If you are not purposely installing something from these folders, you can likely delete them safely.

I personally chose to keep them just in case I should find a use for them.
