dsb Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 I have a HP Media Center PC, presently running 2004. I am attempting to get a copy of the 2005 Upgrade CD. Can anyone help me out? Can I down load it from some link or get a copy. When I went to the web site I was told the program has ended and I am presently doing the "I will transfer you to..." dance with HP support. thanks
cmahr1 Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 I have the same problem and need the upgrade as well especially now in order to use XBOX 360 to it fullest
getwired Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 You both missed the window for this - it ran for several months late last year and early this one. You'll need to buy a copy from one of the resellers carrying it (NewEgg, etc.)
wbpluto Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 (edited) It's very easy to update MCE2004 to MCE2005.you just need "mectroc.inf" install info file for MCE2005 and "Mediactr.CAB" for MCE2005then run this :rundll32 syssetup,SetupInfObjectInstallAction Freestyle 128 medctroc.infMedia Center 2005 will be installed in your system....if you want to install "Windows Digital Media Enhancement" and "Sonic CD and DVD Burning",you also neet inf files and CAB.... getwired Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I think they were probably looking for a legal and supported way to do this.
