I put both computers on a workgroup called TRY and then restarted each

Each computer can only see itself and typing it into the adress bar doesnt work

This is starting to get really annoying

I disapled my firewall and then it worked

enabled my firewall and it still works

stupid thing is i configured the firewall for the computers IP and subnet mask.

Was it the Windows Firewall? I thought that with SP2, it automatically picked up on whether or not file sharing was enabled and set the firewall accordingly...

no it was norton client security

Now im trying to get internet sharing to work which is provong to be equally bothersome

i get my internet through my wireless card and want to share it through my ethernet card

as soon as i try to enable internet sharing all hell breaks lose and reconfigures the ip's and nothing works
