I am using NLite 0.99.9 Beta to make an unattended ISO of Windows XP Pro slipstreamed with SP2 and Ryan's hotfix pack. I use NLite to make the iso but I have also tried CDIMAGE. I am attempting to test the installation using VMware workstation 5.

The problem is, windows text setup goes through, I do the partitioning as I would like it, it formats, then it goes through the process of copying files. Everytime it gives me 2-3 errors trying to copy a few files... it's not always the same files either.

Does anyone have any idea why this would occur or how I can fix it?

Id appreciate any input,

-Mike

As an update -- I installed VMware on a different computer and ran the install, worked like a champ.

I suppose I would still like to know what causes that error, and can it be hardware related on the host machine?

when booting from this UACD that you created, did you use the ISO file to boot from or did you burn it to a CD?

What kind of ROM do you have? DVD? CD? what speed?

sounds like a bad cd-rom drive to me. i did an install for an office network rollout and they had a bunch of old acer p4's with oem cd-rom drives. every time textmode hit a bigger file they'd just be like, nope, sorry, can't give you that, we're garbage. we ended up having to go around the office swapping out cdroms. in every case the drive we swapped in was older than the drive originally in the computer. ridiculous.
