Mouse drivers ?

Couldn't find a place to fit this in, so here goes. Got a really sweet deal on a MS Itellipoint Explorer2 wireless mouse, after my special card rebate was USD $3.00 , now here's the rub, mouse works but can't get features[2 extra buttons & tilt wheel scroll] cause software won't load[for 2k & XP]. I ckd MS & nothing at all for 98se/ME, is there a way to fool cd to load software? CD is MS Intellipoint 5.2 mouse software. Am, of course willing to use in reg mode as wireless scroll mouse , but would like extras if possible. TIAFAI

PPS: I'm just getting ready to load SP 2.0.1, trying to put ducks in a row.

I've tried once b4, I couldn't "rig" Intellipoint 5.2 to work with 98/98SE/ME.

I have an Intellimouse Explorer 4.0a with side wheel, and the side whell works only in XP/2003/Longhorn only with Intellipoint 5.2.

But [most of] the extra buttons should work with the older software [last ver of Intellimouse for 9x was 4.12]:

Big thnxs MDGx, will ck it out, was hoping for a work around, but even as a 3 button I couldn't afford to pass up deal like that Am headed that a way now

PS: Just got my network setup w/netbui[3puters] works like charm!
