Hello,

I have a strange problem developing, we have about 18000 users and a policy that controls their entire "desktop" feel from programs to data, yada yada...

Some of the user accounts i notice are giving errors when attempting to redirect the My documents Folder.

The error:

Failed to perform redirection of folder My Documents. The files for the redirected folder could not be moved to the new location. The folder is configured to be redirected to <\\uldc01\$ULFolderRedir$\Default Domain Users\Student Documents\%USERNAME%\My Documents>. Files were being moved from <C:\Documents and Settings\200401225\My Documents> to <\\uldc01\$ULFolderRedir$\Default Domain Users\Student Documents\200401225\My Documents>. The following error occurred while copying <C:\Documents and Settings\200401225\My Documents\desktop.ini> to <\\uldc01\$ULFolderRedir$\Default Domain Users\Student Documents\200401225\My Documents\desktop.ini>:

The security descriptor structure is invalid.

OK ? so i noticed i still had some roaming profile copy's on the servers which should be deleted when he logs off - which wasn't happening.

I deleted them.

next time user logs in it creates the redirected Folders on the server as it suppose to but i still recieve the error above and the users files are not updated?

IE when he saves to My Documents it saves local and not his network share.

i also recieve an error about turning of caching for roaming profiles

it bugs me that only some users have a problem not all, and besides this issue everyting else works fine. i'm not eager to jump in and take 2 many risks solving this because of the number of people using it, it's just my event viewer is filling up and this could get worse.

What to do?
