Minus Human Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 Hello,I have a strange problem developing, we have about 18000 users and a policy that controls their entire "desktop" feel from programs to data, yada yada...Some of the user accounts i notice are giving errors when attempting to redirect the My documents Folder. The error:Failed to perform redirection of folder My Documents. The files for the redirected folder could not be moved to the new location. The folder is configured to be redirected to <\\uldc01\$ULFolderRedir$\Default Domain Users\Student Documents\%USERNAME%\My Documents>. Files were being moved from <C:\Documents and Settings\200401225\My Documents> to <\\uldc01\$ULFolderRedir$\Default Domain Users\Student Documents\200401225\My Documents>. The following error occurred while copying <C:\Documents and Settings\200401225\My Documents\desktop.ini> to <\\uldc01\$ULFolderRedir$\Default Domain Users\Student Documents\200401225\My Documents\desktop.ini>: The security descriptor structure is invalid. -----------------------------OK ? so i noticed i still had some roaming profile copy's on the servers which should be deleted when he logs off - which wasn't happening.I deleted them.next time user logs in it creates the redirected Folders on the server as it suppose to but i still recieve the error above and the users files are not updated?IE when he saves to My Documents it saves local and not his network share.i also recieve an error about turning of caching for roaming profiles it bugs me that only some users have a problem not all, and besides this issue everyting else works fine. i'm not eager to jump in and take 2 many risks solving this because of the number of people using it, it's just my event viewer is filling up and this could get worse. What to do?Minus Human
FAT64 Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Did you set up roaming profiles before re-directing the My Documents folders??
Minus Human Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 No, when the users log on their roaming profiles/and their Redirected info gets created automatically.minus human
