Cause if that's what you mean there is no default location...after a fresh install it is up to you to copy the files over and then you can pretty much pick and choose where you want them. Most people simply copy the I386 directory from the CD to the system partition...for most that means C:\I386. If you are asking where does windows install to by default, it's usually C:\WINDOWS and sometimes C:\WINNT but that's about all I've ever seen. You can install to any location you want, but you have to watch out for poorly designed programs that always look for C:\WINDOWS.
