I got the impression that I had to use a utility called hotfix.exe to accomplish this. It was only later that I learned that I had to subsitute hotfix.exe for the name of the patch I wanted to integrate. It would be nice if you could put hotfix.exe between signs <hotfix.exe>

Hopefully I don't forget this during the update....i have a really long list of things to do
