How to Simple URL with PHP

I am wondering if there is a way to simple URL like, http://www.myname.com/ch-123 instead of http://www.myname.com/index.php?ch=123.

Please guide me how to do this.

Now I got another problem. Anytime I uploaded .htaccess to my server, it disapeared . That is weird.

".htaccess" is a potentially dangerous file, so providers dont allow it sometimes.

....Or your FTP client could be hiding it. Make sure the FTP application you are using has the "show all files" checked.
