a06lp
Hi,I've read a few posts that MCE can be made into one disk by combining disc2 onto disc1. Ive looked at both discs, and it seems the only difference on cd2 is the "CMPNENTS\MEDIACTR" folder. Now, I have a legal copy of MCE2005, as well as a licensed XP-PRO. I've created the XP-PRO DVD already, with all my custom features.Would copying that single CMPNENTS\MEDIACTR folder onto my XP-Pro folder (XPCD) install media center? or do i have to copy other files too?I'd hate to have to rebuild my entire u-dvd from scratch... mythosaz
The cab being loaded or not depends on the KEY used.

nam265
ohh Noo That won't work!! for sureThe reason is .. File in XP Pro CD is different from Files in original MCE 2005 CD1and those files will refer to CD2 files to install MCE but it if you just put what's in CD2 into Winxp Pro CDHowever, it isn't impossible to make a MCE since you have CD 2 of MCE and XP ProAll you need is a something called "MCE 05 Transformer"winbase presents MRMPFPP_EN--------------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft Windows XP Professional to Media Center Edition 2005 Transform Pack - winbase_______________________________________________________________ These files will help you to make yourself a retail CD of Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE) 2005--------------------------------------------------------------- I N S T R U C T I O N S1. Put any English Windows XP Professional setup files into a temp dir on your hard drive.2. If these files don't still contain SP2 integrated - it's time to slipstream it now.3. Move \I386\SP2.CAB from your temp dir into the folder \SP2\ of this release.4. Run \SP2\repack.cmd from the release, and wait until it finishes.5. Now move all the files from \CDRoot\I386\ folder of this release to the \I386\ folder of your temp dir. Overwrite all existing files when promted. NB: after running repack.cmd, the \CDRoot\I386\ folder will also contain new SP2.CAB.6. Get NETFX.CAB from CD2 of either MCE2004/2005 or Tablet PC 2005. NB: NETFX.CAB can be also found in full package of SP2 downloaded directly from Microsoft (look in \i386\root\cmpnents\netfx\i386\)7. Put NETFX.CAB to \CDRoot\CMPNENTS\NETFX\I386\ folder of this release.8. Then put the entire \CDRoot\CMPNENTS\ folder into the root of your temp dir. So your temp dir must contain at least the following: +---CMPNENTS | +---MEDIACTR | | \---I386 | | mediactr.cab | | PLUS.CAB | | SONIC.CAB | | | \---NETFX | \---I386 | NETFX.CAB | \---I386 (and all the stuff in it)9. Burn the CD using Nero or make an ISO image using CDImage (included)._______________________________________________________________regards winbase team 3:39 11.11.2004I got this somewhere on the net and proved to be workingIn addition, contact me through AIM: Nam6262 if you have DSL so it wont be a problem if you want this package...Alright so back to the topic, Winxp PRo + CD2 along WONTIt must combine with Original CD1 of MCE which come with this packageHope that answer your question~
