Besdir Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Hi, I have 15 computers running on windows 98. They are all networked peer to peer. I wish to share internet connection to all workststions. I need a step by step guide. Thanks
tarquel Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 We could do with a bit more information...- Have you got xDSL/Broadband at all?If so, then youre easiest bet is to get a ADSL broadband router which will do everything you want - plus most (if not all) these days have a hardware firewall and DCHP built-in, which would really help things with your network too.I assume you dont have a server setup (i.e. a Server OS for use as a fileserver) from what you mention regarding a peer-to-peer network In this case then, I doubt you have a DCHP server running which would help your peer-to-peer network stability.Best option would be to get a router if you have broadband, but we need to know more on what internet connection you have.Regards,N.
tarquel Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 lol alsoThen i wouldn't bother - its not gonna be worth it.But..... if you really do want to, search the forum for ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) which you can do in Win 98 but I wouldnt count on it being any good heheI have never done it (in 98) so I can't say how easy it is to setup, but i believe you can install a component via Add/Remove - Windows ComponentsI think its under Networking (dont have 98 running so can't say for sure).Good luck.N.
