Hi, and thanks for reading.

I have an older Sound Blaster Live, I think it was actually a Platinum, because it has the Audio Extension ( Digital I/O ) connector for an I/O card or Drive Bay.

I have 8 wires from the front a tower that I would like to connect to this card if possible. I have googled around for a bit and havn't been able to find any documents that lable the pins, but I have a diagram of the card so you'll know excatly what I'm talking about.

The wires from the tower have little pins that read:

Return R

Spkout R

Ground

Mic-In

Return L

Spkout L

Ground

Mic BIAS

I've seen a diagram a few years back, but I didn't have this card until last month.

Thanks, Mark

which may tell u which pin is which
That's not the problem, the pins are labled, I simply don't know where they would go if I wanted to connect them to this sound card.

The pins on the sound card are made for the Creative Drive and I was hoping someone here might know which numbers could be used if I didn't have the Drive I/R, but it's looking like I'll have to settle for using the back ports for Mic and Line In.

I can't remember the make or model of the case, it's a custom build that I had done over a year ago, and giving it to my daughter now that I have upgraded.

Really sorry - I misread the first post (on account of me being half-asleep).

You've not found anyway of identifying the pins on the soundcard then?

I'll see if i can find anything for you :)

EDIT:

Have you had a look here: http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/down...sp?type=manuals there might be some manual that gives you pin assignments for the header :)

I know its a UK link but you can click the change the county link at the top right.

Sorry again and regards,

N.

Yeah I was there before and all I was able to get was a listing. Almost all the pins were labled ground, nothing of any real help to me.

I was so hoping that you were not going to say that. :(

Found a listing of the pin outs

hmmmm looks like a v. v. tough one :(

Just a thought but have you looked at the creative forums and posted there with the info that you have put in here?

There may be some modders or Creative technical staff that might have more of an idea....

just a thought...

N.
