Ok i managed to slipstream Sp2/Office with sp1 and other updates and personal reg tweaks.

Now The unattended guide doesn't really explian how to add applications such as Sygate/Nod32 etc.. How would i go about them?

Also is there a way to keep XP from installing the "unneccesary things"

thanks alot...is it possible to add these to the iso nlite created?

Because i would also like to add a slipstreamed version of office sp1 to it.

also

"%systemdrive%\" is that C:\XPCD\$OEM$\$1\Instal\Applications\

what is the Systemdrive.. folder location

:edit:

i didnt want to start a new thread. But i have Virtul Pc 2004 and i followed the guide to test it. Now after i click capture Iso what am i supposed to see? the regular WindowsXP install, and im i supposed to follow through with the install etc, because it says "press anybutton to continue" then its black and nothing happens.

It's most definately possible to add this to the CD that nLite creates. You just have to add the relevant UA software installation files in the nLite working directory before you create the ISO. nLite is exactly what you're looking for when you want to remove the "unnecessary things".

%systemdrive% = the partition that Windows is installed on, for the most part, C:\

Your best bet to find silent install switches for your apps is by searching. Needless to say, most of the questions you might ask have probably been asked and answered already by someone else. Google is everyone's friend.

I can tell you right off the bat... you'll probably want to hold off on installing NOD32 UA, since the option to start the AMON protection automatically will be disabled. We'll have to see how things go when NOD32 2.5 is released.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

"Where do i add the relevant UA software instalation files in nlite" Is there a little guide or sumthing i dont understand what your saying.

:edit:

Do you mean after setting everything up before clicking finish create the folder $OEM$/$1/Install/Applications

Add the files and finalize with nlite? What about the Winnt.sif or w/e Do i not have to play around with that?

n howd u know i use Nod32

Curious :P

He means the source files that Nlite modifies, eg C:xpcd etc whatever your path. Nlite does not support the addittion of applications only driver & update packages. You will have to search the applications section for certain install types & switches.

alrite cool, i think i get it..Wish me luck. Im done the nlite editing part. O one last thing do i add the contents of the cd first then use nlite?

k, thanks just wanted to clear this up.. Also i would have to follow the current guide of adding winnt.sif etc, and the batch files?

Yeah...you at least need to use winnt.sif to tell setup that you are doing an OEMPreinstall...without that the software won't be copied over during install, thus defeating the purpose.
