Windows XP messed with install

Here is the thing: I have my computer on Dual Boot, Windows XP and Linux, using GRUB (a linux bootloader) and both OS were installed on the single 120GB Sata HD. I installed a spare IDE HD I had, moved some data from the windows partition to it, and procedded to format it. Installation went smoothly, and, as expect, windows installed it's own bootloader, and I lost my ability to boot linux, but no problem. After moving the data back to I removed the IDE HD and had the unpleasant surprise to see Grub was back in place...

For some reason I don't know, windows installed itself in the SATA HD, like I wanted, but installed it's bootloader in the IDE HD. Is there a way to make my windows install work again, without having to do a full reinstall?

boot with the xp cd and choose repair. then in the command line type delete mbr and then create mbr. i am not sure that's the right commands but u can use the help from the xp cd.

Another weird thing... my windows cd doesn't boot unless I have the IDE HD installed. I mean, it doesn't even get to the blue screen where it loads drivers.... It is was slipstreamed by me to include SP2 and the sata driver...
