I recomend VNC (www.realvnc.com i think) its very handy for what you said. That is if both pc's are running , cuz im not sure wat ur post ment , do u mean that u have to share the hdd for both os's if so ignore that

Or use remote administrator from www.radmin.com

only need 1 port opening and away you go

Simple adn easy to use

License need to be purchased, but are relatively cheap

I still use VNC when I need to, but I've been using LogMeIn lately...it's a smaller version of Remotely Anywhere, which is clunky at first but it's really slick.

LogMeIn is free for just remote desktop (File Transfer Isn't Free), and it's great cause it doesn't need firewall support (Other than software firewalls approving the application in general).

It is a service that they provide, so you have to go through them at all times, but it's really not a drag if both units are on broadband. It will run on Win2000 no problem...check it out, it's pretty swank!

Certainly does, one server we have is using netop - a seperate company who's set up the server for a specific role & uses netop to remote administer it.

Its not maintained by me (unless they want me to press Ctrl - Alt - Del for them lol apparently a bug in netop, although it didnt used to happen lol) as such so cant give you more details than that really.

But as taggs said, it does do dialin :)
