avillar Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 I'd like to receive input from known experiences about programs not working correctly because of the end user not being a local admin even if the app is installed by an admin,As I mention I include the domain user in each windows xp's local admins group. This enables installation of antivirus and other apps that run as services from the loginscript if logged with regular domain users. In order to secure the desktops I will change these install actions to be run as an admin with psexec. But need extra info in order to know what will stop working when we revoke admin rights...Thanks in advanced!!!!
RyanVM Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 I remember from back in my IT days a few years ago that users with Nero on their computers needed to be made local admins for it to function properly. I don't know if that's still the case with current versions.
Martin Zugec Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 2Ryan: Nope, it was solved by Nero BurnRights (or similar name)... 2avillar: Download Application Compatibility Toolkit and create session with SMEs.
firefoxthebomb Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 I know Kodak EasyShare program needs admin right to run.
