I think this is a simple issue, but I do not seem to fund the solution. I searched for "remove logon network share windows 2003", but didn't found anything helping me.

anyway this is my problem.

Computer WHITE is running Windows 2003 server.

Computer BLACK is running Windows XP sp2.

both aren in workgroup MSHOME

WHITE got S: drive shared as ShareDrive. Everyone has full control of that share.

when BLACK tries to go to //WHITE/SharedDrive, it ask for a login.

I wanna remove that login screen so that everyone, and I mean Everyone, to access that network share.

I, however, dont want to use AD or anything like it, just wanna remove the screen and simply access the share no matter who's the user.

is that possible? i'm sure it's a reg key or somet ing in the policies...

thanks!

you need to enable the guest account, allow "everyone" permissions, in the group policy editor, and you need to remove the guest account from the "deny network access to this computer" also in the group policy editor.

after that you need to give "everyone" the permission to read the volume you want to share.
