lucas4394 Posted December 12, 2002 Posted December 12, 2002 I just wonder if SQL Server 2000 can be installed in Windows XP Environment.thx lucas
sedative Posted December 12, 2002 Posted December 12, 2002 As far as i know, they're completely compatible.
jimwillsher Posted December 12, 2002 Posted December 12, 2002 It runs fine. However, I think you need SQL Server 2000 PERSONAL, as opposed to STANDARD or ENTERPRISE. I stand to be corrected, but I believe this is the case.I'm using SQL Server Personal on my PC. No real differrences btween it and standard.Jim
lucas4394 Posted December 14, 2002 Author Posted December 14, 2002 I am taking SQL Server 2000 training course. I asked my instructor whether i could install SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition in Windows XP Pro., what she recommanded was the same as Jim said --- Personal Edition is a good choice. However, i only have enterprise edition, somehow, i am afraid that if i dont' install SQL Server correctly,it may damage xp , actually, i just guess .It is very painful to reinstall xp on my machine cuz it takes almostone hour to finish.
