Symantec antivirus silent update

hi all

We got thet symantec antivirus on our system at work but cause of we all logged as enduser (not admin) we cannot get the "sheduled LiveUpdate" to update the viruses definitions (it's in grey)

And it's boring to do that "manualy" on 10 pcs 3 times a week.....

So I tried the "/s" or "/SILENT" opion on a sheduled .bat file but no succes...

I think it's cause of our realy dodgy configuration:

We don't get our updates on the symantec web site. We get it from a server of the compagny after they cheked the compatibility with our software.

P.S. this configuration is configured as defaut when we do it "manualy"

If anyone had that probleme b4 and find a solution can he post it ?

Your administrator's have taken away the option to run LiveUpdate for a reason as you stated so they can test compatibility with the software in use on the PC's.

Why would you want to try and circumvent their efforts?

hi, thanks for your answer but what i m tring to do is not getting the updates directly from symantec but get the automatic updates from our server
