What does SP2's TCP/IP Limit mean on earth?

@Windows XP SP2,M$ set a TCP/IP Limit,what does it stand for?

x connections increased per second or total connection in one second,which one is right?

i am confused,can anybody help me?

I believe it is the number of connections attempted to any XP SP2 workstation at a given time. This is not really new, I believe Win2K Pro had the same limitation.

Nope, it is limit to 10 UNCOMPLETED (not finished TCP handshake) connections...

It will allow to reduce the attack speed of viruses etc.

Why would one want to increase this connection limit, as evident with the patchers/hacked installation files available?

2.) network scanning tools

3.) viruses
