What should I do first after a clean install of windows server 2003 ent edition ? Installing the updates first or setting up active directory first and then get the updates ?

Windows Update all the way, I would want a fully patched server before I make it a domain controller so a minimal number of vulnerabilities are exposed.

Another thing you may not think of all the time... Install your support tools and resource kits before applying any service packs or updates. There are always updates to the resource kit in services packs.

Note: With SP1 and a clean install, you must configure Security first before grabbing updates as all connections are turned off by default.
