April 5, 200521 yr Hi guys, i have a problem with my Pc, please if anyone can give me a hand with the stuff??...it is simple, i can connect a pendrive (Kingstone 256 Mb or Simpletech 128 Mb) to my packard bell notebook in the USB Port but when i try to dismount the drive (before to plug it out ) XP send a message that "The device is in use by another program and cannot be deactivated, try again later".No other program is running (At least, at the screen or taskbar), well, at the end, y did must to shut the pc down to plug out the drive safetely. The problem is in the pendrive??, In the PC??, or in Windows XP?Please...Help!!!!
April 5, 200521 yr If you use a pendrive/USB stick/whatever name under Windows XP, you don't even have to use the 'Save hardware remove wizard', or whatever it was named like.If you don't use it, you won't get any error

April 5, 200521 yr Maybe with external hdds or so... But I've never removed it that way, without any problems at all.
