wXP Home edition, pendrive trouble

Featured Replies

Hi guys, i have a problem with my Pc, please if anyone can give me a hand with the stuff??...it is simple, i can connect a pendrive (Kingstone 256 Mb or Simpletech 128 Mb) to my packard bell notebook in the USB Port but when i try to dismount the drive (before to plug it out ) XP send a message that "The device is in use by another program and cannot be deactivated, try again later".

No other program is running (At least, at the screen or taskbar), well, at the end, y did must to shut the pc down to plug out the drive safetely.

The problem is in the pendrive??, In the PC??, or in Windows XP?

Please...Help!!!!

:(

If you use a pendrive/USB stick/whatever name under Windows XP, you don't even have to use the 'Save hardware remove wizard', or whatever it was named like.

If you don't use it, you won't get any error :)

Thanks for the Hint but, it is safe for the data integrity to remove the device without use the wizard??? it seems to be a little risky.

just put in in and out at your hearts content, no risk, I have been using mine for some time almost daily and no problems. heck mine even went throught the laundry one time and no problems.
