soulkeeper Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 hi all .A Internet Cafe , 17 pc one of them is the main server which is not a domain . all the pc's system is xp and all users are administrators , when i try to login into a pc's hard disk through another pc i type \\pc1\c$ but it gives a message or an option box where user name is pc1\guest and its disable and under it there is a password . but problem u cant change the user name its locked or disabled u know .what can i do to have a remote user who can login to the c on any pc in this workgroup ? in my work as an adiminstrator i can do it so easy coz its a domain and admin has a full priviliges , but here ? thanks .
firefoxthebomb Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 you could also just create a new share and give it proper permissions, when you try to go to the adminitrative share of c$ it does that sometimes.
