I have a question.

Is it possible that i remove the "ProductKey" from [userData], so setup prompts me for it to enter whilst the setup?

I don't like the idea having saved the key on a cd at all...

the CoA is enough for me

And no, I'm not one of such paranoid security freaks

Any1 knows wheather this is possible?

change your

UnattendMode=FullUnAttended

to

UnattendMode=DefaultHide

and just remove the proudct key line out of your winnt.sif file

You should be able to just delete the ProductKey or ProductID line from your unattend file.

I have seen in the past where if I have the wrong product key entered or no product key that I am prompted for it during setup.

Play around with this setting and see what works for you.

I've found it necessary to put "ProductKey" into the winnt.sif file...

I've also found that any info that is correct, setup will use, and any incorrect/invalid info, that is usually prompted on an install without a winnt.sif file (man that's been a while since I found this site ) However if you leave ProductKey out of your winnt.sif file, I don't think it will work properly...

So example....

setup a WORKING unattended install disc with your ProductKey in it's winnt.sif file, once you get that working, then edit the winnt.sif file line as follows

ProductKey=22222-22222-22222-22222-22222

Then the install will be as unattended as it was before, except it will stop and ask you for your code.... once a valid code is provided, it will contiue with the rest of the install. Note: I think you have to use characters that would appear in a valid code AND in a format that a valid key would be (ie 5 groups of 5 characters separated by -s)...

The nice effect is that if you build/use computers with a floppy, you can then use that one CD and copy the winnt.sif file to a floppy and edit it with the proper ProductKey.. (no need to waste CDRs !!!!!)
