I have a 2 computer home network. I can see both in network places. I can connect to 2 from 1 but when I try to connect to 1 from 2 a log on screen pops up, when I input my username and password and hit enter the log on screen re- appears with the user name changed to include the computer name : computername\username.

I tried to create an account with that name , but it won't let me make any account name with \ in it

are you using xp ?>

create a new account on the pc your a trying to conect to. then tryinig logging in with it.
