ajD123456
MY computer just blue screened with the message the RPCTR4.Dll cannot be found and must be reinstalled. I downloaded and burned the DLL to a CD, then used a boot disk so that i had access to my CD Drive. But now how do I re-install this file? It keeps telling me I have a bad command...Hopefully someone can help me.Thanks.
dman
MY computer just blue screened with the message the RPCTR4.Dll cannot be found do you mean "rpcrt4.dll", the remote procedure runtime? maybe problem is just a typo?copy the dll back where it belongs (windows\system32), thenfrom "run" box or command prompt type regsvr32 RPCRT4.Dllthis will re-register the dll. You will get a confirmation for success or failure.
wullieb1
Do you have access to the local drive??You won't be able to access the drive from a boot floppy if its NTFS, without some other software, i use NTFS Pro from Winternals. If it is FAT32 then you need to look at the commands your are typing into the command line. i would usually have the copy executable from youre PC on your floppy then use the following commanda:\Copy rpctr4.dll %systemroot%\system32Substitute %systemroot% for your windows folder.Hopefully this will work for you. purewaveform
I would be carefull just replacing one file, usually when you get a bsod it is more than one file. a couple of questions.1. Are you running system restore?2. Do you make regular backups?3. Have you tried booting from the CD and doing a restore?4. Tried getting into Safe Mode?find out what is the exact issue, also you can use BartsPE to get into the partition and then you can run a bunch of checks in there.hope this helps.
