stolaf Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 If this has been addressed before, I apologize. I'm trying to stop the language bar in Office 2003 from appearing upon first use. I don't want to remove the language bar completely as I support a small college and I know many people find this tool useful. I just don't want ever user to see it when they first start Microsoft Word. From what I can tell from my limited testing, the reg tweak:[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{540D8A8B-1C3F-4E32-8132-530F6A502090}]@="Language bar""MenuTextPUI"="@%SystemRoot%\System32\msutb.dll,-325"completely removes the language bar so that no user may load it if they so wish. How do I just prevent it from displaying on first use without completely disabling it?
buletov Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 do a registry snapshot before you run the word for the first time, and then after you run it; after that, compare the snapshots...
