March 29, 200521 yr look for the enum1394.sy_ in the i386 folder of windows xp and expand it and save it in the system32 folder located inthe windows folder
March 29, 200521 yr And if firewire still doesn't work here's something you can try if you have SP2:Go to C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386 & C:\dllcache in SP1 and copy out thefollowing filesSBP2port.sys is in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers & \system32\dllcache1394bus.sys is in C:\Windows\System32\Driversarp1394.sys is in C:\Windows\System32\Driversnic1394.sys is in c:\Windows\System32\Driversohci1394.sys is in C:\windows\System32\driversenum1394.sys is in C:\windows\system32\driversCopy out the following files to a new folder you can call "Firewirefix," (without quotes)Stop XP Sp2 from re-installing it's drivers again by:Renaming the XP2.cab file to (e.g. to XP2old.cab)Replace the SP2 versions of these files with the SP1 versions in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers & C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache in safe mode.Go to device manager for your ohci firewire card and update SP2 drivers to the SP1 drivers by pointing to Firewirefix.(warning message normal) Reboot.Good Luck,Treeman
August 19, 200521 yr In my case enum1394.sys and enum1394.sy_ are not present. What can I do? Computer is eMachines, system is XP and 3rd party board is Pinnacle. None will help, they all point to the other. Thanks
