Windows Xp Chinese Scandisk Problem

hey I have a windows XP chinese installation on a Fat 32 drive, but whenever i run scandisk for dos (when starting up windows 98) it changes all the filenames so that i cant find my chinese files anymore, and it also screws up bits of the windows installation itself, can anyone help apart from me formatting into NTFS?

Just use the chkdsk tool in Windows XP. You can run it from the Recovery Console or at booting (after setting it up in Windows).
