alexepascual
When I go to the "System Restore" tab in "System Properties", I get an error. It says:"Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close" I was recently trying to disable system restore when I found that problem. Using Win XP Sp2. I'll appreciate your help.-Alex-
rjz
What is your status of this and all dependents:http://www.theeldergeek.com/system_restore_service.htm
alexepascual
I don't know the status of system restore as I can't get to the tab. Is there another way to look at it?On the other hand maybe I don't understand what you mean by "status", I would assume you mean if it is On or Off. With respect to RPC (which appears to be the only dependency) I am very unfamiliar and I wouldn't know how to check on that. Thanks for your suggestion rjz, and if you could help me a little further I'll really appreciate it. -Alex-
Takeshi
Normally you go to services mmc by pressing [Windows] + R, type: services.mscHave a look:http://techrepublic.com.com/5100-6270-5225409.html
rjz
Yes check your services in admin tools. If that doesn't help try the sfc process.
alexepascual
OK guys, Thanks a lot for your help. I went to the "techrepublic" link you posted and followed the steps. Problem Solved! . As it says in the article, I had used Maxblast from Maxtor to transfer my system from another drive. Not only that, but after disabling System restore I regained like 5 GB of space in my hard drive. Thanks again,-Alex-
