I have created two DL DVD coasters and only have one disk left.

I have attempted to use three different boot sector bin files with no avail.

Also, I cannot get MS VM to read my DVD ISO image (Currently around 5.9 GB)

Is there a special way to create a bootable Dual layer DVD?

I did successfully create a Win Xp SP2 CD. But I really want office and other apps too.

This is my first post so be gentle please. Hopefully I'm explaining this good enough.

Hi Musicdad

I will certainly be gentle as this is only my second post. Firstly I recomend the use of re-writable disks, it will reduce your collection of coasters.

You will need to lift the boot image off your original source disk using Isobuster and then create an ISO image using CD Image (make sure you use the m switch to ignore the file size limit). Burn the resulting image to DVD using a program that supports creating a bootable disk such as Nero (has to be a fairly recent version - 6.0 or above).

As regards your DVD ISO image not being read by MS VM, although I do not use it myself, I believe it does not support images larger than 2GB. I think you can get around this by using Daemon Tools to mount the image on a virtual drive first.

I hope this is of some help to you.

Good luck - LongJohn

If you have large image files and want to try them out, use Vmware. It supports large discs. I had an disc that was approximately 4 gb and it worked fine. Although, I'm not sure if it'll work with a 6 gb disc but, I would say that you should give it a shot!

Good Luck!
