rascalboy Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 my hdd got some problem...i cannot boot into my window normally...so i hv to boot into safe mode....however it hang when it reaches "system/driver/ntfs.sys". i try o do a repair....and i type listsvc and realise tat the ntfs file is disable.... so i type enable ntfs but dis appear instead:The registry entry for the ntfs service was found.The service currently has start_type service_disabled.The start_type of the service was not changed.To change the start_type, specify a start type.Valid start type are:Service_boot_startService_system_startService_auto_startService_demand_startSo can anyone help mi wif the command, cos i dunno how to type them....thnx

Takeshi Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 The file itself could be corrupt so you could try replacing it from the CD in the Recovery Console.Also do a chkdsk.Failing that you could try a repair installation without reformat (which would leave your data intact).
