Orus Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 What's up with Firefox? When I open it takes little memory, but then as I keep on surfing the web, it takes more and more memory as shown in my XP task manager. Is that "normal"? TNX
DigeratiPrime Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 did you tweak the settings perhaps to affect the 'Speed' of FF?Are you using Firefox 1.0.1?Do you have alot of tabs open with images etc?
Orus Posted March 8, 2005 Author Posted March 8, 2005 I'm using Firefox 1.0.1 using several tabs in it. I'm browsing pictures...does this represent a problem for firefox? I haven't done any tweaks so far...just unattended install within my XPlite CD. EDIT:I've found many people having the same memory leak...here is the possible solution.
DigeratiPrime Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 yeah that is what I reffered to by 'Tweaks'. I dont think that is really a 'memory leak' just a default setting considering many users have enough memory and are unaware of running processes.Personally I can have 20-30 tabs and 17 Extensions and only be using 50 or so MB.In the future here is a good place to find answers:http://forums.mozillazine.org/
Orus Posted March 8, 2005 Author Posted March 8, 2005 Thanks. How shall I tweak it so that I can achieve the same results as u do?
DigeratiPrime Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Im not sure if you can duplicate my results, btw the memory usage does vary on my machine too.But you could check some tweak guides out: 1 2
