I Lost My Windows Xp Welcome Screen Logon

Featured Replies

hi, im using windows XP Pro, and i think this is strange problem. i tried ask ppl from mirc but no1 can help me

last nite i tried to make new account and tried to configure the policies in Group Policy, administrative tools/local policy.

and run the "control userpasswords2"

after i did some changes, dunno why i lost my welcome screen logon. until now the logon like windows 2000, must put the username and password (classic logon)

i checked in the control panel/user accounts/change the way users log on or off

Both Welcome screen and fast user switching are Enabled, even i check in the Registry (run:regedit) LogonType and AllowMultipleTSSession are "1"

pls any1 if knows or can solve my problem. i want my "welcome screen logon and fast user switching" back.

coz annoying with this classic logon, i cant use Fast User Switching when to use other account in the same time.

always ask Administrator or that User currently logon to put password (to Unlock Computer) then switch to other account

thanks :)

I have a similar problem as you do. Yesterday I used "XP LogonUI" to change the boot screen, but that "logonui.exe" seemed to be crashed, leading to an error. Then I deleted the crashed file and restart XP LogonUI again... IT DOESN'T WORK! I've tried to restart the computer, copy some healthy "logonui.exe" to c:\windows\system32 many many times...at last I failed! My boot screen didn't come back~ God, would somebody kind tell me how to recover it? New version of the XP LogonUI could help me or not? Thanks a lot!
