eschloss Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 I am creating a new network distribution point for unattended XPSP2. I already have distribution points for SP1 and Win2K SP4 and they work flawlessly. SP2 installs fine from the source, but nothing in the $oem$ folder gets copied to the HD. I have several folders (drivers, hotfixes, config files, etc.) in the $oem$, but non of them are on the c drive when setup completes. My $oem$ on the other 2 distrobutions is under the i386 and works, but when it didn't work on SP2, I tried moving it parrallel to the i386, still no luck.Does anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong?
redserpent Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 I have the exact same problem with windows xp SP2 (corp). Let me know if you find the solution.
Br4tt3 Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 r u sure you have specified the correct value to the OEMFilesPath entry?as the path to the share correctly? also that the answer file is set to search for oem files... oempreinstall = yes?Regards...
redserpent Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 I think you may have solved it:OemPreinstall=No It doesnt mention anything about this in the guide so I blame it Will test it later.Thanks.

prathapml Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 It doesnt mention anything about this in the guide so I blame it <{POST_SNAPBACK}>winnt.sif referenceOemPreinstall=Yes or No This option is default to No but if you are using the $OEM$ Distribution folders then it needs to be set to Yes, so that Setup regards this installation as a distribution and copies these files over to the system drive. This occurs at the end of Text-mode Setup. This was not seen when you read the guide?
